The short version

Snaplean does not collect, transmit or store your data. Your photos and videos stay on your device unless you tap Back up to YouTube, which sends only the videos you picked to your own YouTube account.

What Snaplean reads

With your permission, Snaplean reads your photo library to measure file sizes and analyse images so it can group them. This analysis — including text recognition — happens entirely on your iPhone using Apple's frameworks.

What Snaplean stores

Scan results are cached in the app's private storage on your device so it does not have to re-scan every time you open it. Deleting the app deletes that cache.

What Snaplean sends

Nothing on its own. Snaplean has no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting and no server component, and it works with no network connection. If you choose Back up to YouTube, the selected videos go straight from your phone to Google's YouTube upload service under your own Google account; Snaplean keeps a sign-in token on your device only, and you can sign out in Settings at any time.

Deleting and changing photos

Snaplean can delete photos and save compressed copies only when you ask it to, and only through iOS, which shows its own confirmation. Deleted items go to Recently Deleted, where iOS keeps them for 30 days.

Children

Snaplean is a utility with no accounts of its own, no messaging and no user-generated content, and is not directed at children.
